Silence--a strangled
Telephone has forgotten
That it is ringing¨

Illustration project update:

Florida Critters!

Tallahassee, FL - Ben has finished all 40 line-art versions of the critter illustrations. After some revisions for scientific accuracy and heated debates on animal expressions, the illustrations made it through the gauntlet of biologists over at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Somehow. Who knew Armadillos don't wear sunglasses for disguise?? Well, the illustrations are now clear for coloring (in progress).

Florida Critters, including Cabbage Palms, Large Mouth Bass, and Gopher Tortoise. Click to see more!

Woodworking tips in case of emergency

  • Bears. They can wreck havok on a woodshop. Be sure to keep at least one large rock at arms distance while working during the months ending in "r".

  • If your safety glasses fall off during a precision cut, don't stop! Squint really hard and blow air upward toward your eyes. You might even try closing your eyes. Eventually, you'll be really good at precision cuts.

  • Cut your finger off again?  This is hardly an emergency. More like a right of passage for any woodworker worth a damn.

  • In case of economic crisis in the country you live in, take a step back and ask yourself: "why the hell did I decide to become a woodworker?"

  • Nobody is buying your furniture: now there’s an emergency. A good solution to this is to stop writing tool tips and work harder on your stinkin' designs.

  • If you ever have a bad day I strongly suggest you buy some custom built furniture, It will make you look a lot better (in addition to your sweet mustache).

Next month: How to calibrate a calibrator.
