Dubbed "The Next Great Thing in Southern Rock" by An Honest Tune Magazine, Tishamingo took off from Athens, Georgia and launched into a frenzy of touring across the US and Europe. Ben S. Johnson has been providing his creative services as HOSUEBOATSTUDIO to the band since 2001, including multiple illustration projects commissioned by the band.
Perhaps Ben's most notable work for Tishamingo is the 2003 debut album. Ben produced two original oil paintings that serve as an immediate visual entry point into Tishamingo's Southern swamp-tinged music. One painting is used on the outside (front and back cover) of the digi-pack. The other painting is the reverse view, and is the inside spread for the album.
