Built of actual fire, this table defies all the rules of common physics. Ok, not really. The table actually gets its name from its function, to build a fire in the removable pot in the middle. The hearth has traditionally been the center of social and familial gatherings for human beings. The table has a lower shelf below the top where kindling is placed so that each person sitting around the table can participate in the process of keeping the fire alive. The table can only go outdoors, so it’s constructed of durable concrete, cast as smooth as a stone countertop. The monolithic design can be assembled and disassembled to move, because concrete is heavy.
